3 arrested for Union Planter's Bank robbery

Bloomington police have arrested three men suspected of robbing the Union Planter's Bank May 25.\nA Bloomington Police Department spokesman said 23-year-old Evansville resident Dutsel S. Greene was stopped for a traffic offense in Evansville on the day of the robbery.\nAfter he was stopped, Evansville police found cash from the robbery in his car. Under interogation by Evansville police, Greene impicated two other men in the robbery -- Mount Vernon resident Travis Sutton, 18, and Evansville resident Anthony Sapp, 19.\nAll three men are being held in Vanderburgh County jail until they can be transported to Bloomington and charged with armed robbery.\nThe spokesman said the three men came to Bloomington May 24 to check out local banks with the intent of finding one to rob. They were allegedly dining at a restaraurant May 25 near Union Planter's bank when they noticed it and decided to rob it.\nPolice were called to the bank at 4:38 p.m. Police suspect Greene committed the robbery while Sapp and Sutton waited outside in a car, and all three escaped when he returned with the money.\nThe police arrived at the bank within a minute of being called but were too late to stop the robbers. Bloomington police reviewed security camera tapes from a neighboring shopping center but found no leads. Greene was taken into custody in Evansville later the same day.\nThe spokesman said Greene was released from the Indiana Deparment of Corrections in January for a previous robbery conviction. Police suspect he took part in an Evansville bank robbery in April.
