Gros Louis named to First Trustee Professorship

The trustees established a new title for those who return to teaching after serving in the highest levels of administration. The title, Trustee Professor, is a five-year term that is renewable. Trustee Professors are to be engaged in teaching and research, according to the resolution. They are also expected to undertake "special assignments" such as chairing a high-level search committee or assisting with fund-raising efforts.\nThose carrying the title will receive a supplement of $25,000 per year in addition to their academic salary.\nRetiring Chancellor and Vice President for Academic Affairs, Ken Gros Louis is the first recipient of the Trustee Professorship.
