Although I agree that a $24 ticket for a Nelly concert was "not worth the money," I would have also taken that opinion had the ticket been $4; I indeed appreciate the value of opinions.\nBut, the fact is, Vaughn Allen was completely right; concertgoers must assume a bit of risk when attending live concerts. I would say that I have been to more than 150 concerts, and I can remember at least 20 that ended with with a noticeably shorter headlining act than I, and the crowd, expected. This is a normal part of live entertainment. And, to expect Union Board to "promise that acts will deliver" is like expecting President Myles Brand to promise a sunny day for graduation -- ridiculous.\nFurthermore, to insinuate that Union Board did not "plan ahead" is not only absurd but borderline inappropriate. I think the IDS editorial staff should attempt to involve themselves with the production of a large scale concert to better understand the planning and contractual obligations of an event of that size. Certainly, the production of a well-planned college newspaper does not always fruit a flawless product.
