Author to discuss hot topics

Race discrimination, censorship, the death penalty and the Supreme Court will be the focus of lawyer and Fox News political analyst Ann Coulter's speech at 7 p.m. today in Woodburn Hall Room 101. \nCoulter, a well-known conservative and best-selling author, was named one of the 20 most fascinating women in politics by George magazine. She is the author of the best-selling "High Crimes and Misdemeanors -- The Case Against Bill Clinton."\nThe lecture, sponsored by the IU College Republicans and the Young Americans Foundation, is free and open to the public.\nHer speech will be "The Supreme Court: One Vote Shy of Race Discrimination, Censorship and Death." College Republicans President Jim Banks, a senior, said the group doesn't know the specifics of her speech but is excited and honored to have her on campus.\nCollege Republicans raised half of the money to bring Coulter to campus, Banks said, and the Young Americans Foundation contributed the other half.\nBanks said Coulter's speech promises to be controversial and enlightening.\n"This is a very exciting opportunity to have her come to IU," Banks said. \nFor more information, visit www.iub.edu/~iugop.
