IU President Myles Brand and the rest of a seven-member committee that will determine IU's next head basketball coach had their first meeting Monday afternoon.\nThe two-hour meeting was attended by all committee members, including incoming athletics director Michael McNeely.\nVice President for Administration Terry Clapacs, who heads the committee, said it will meet again soon.\n"Perhaps at that point we will be able to say more," Clapacs said. "We deliberated the basic issues and we're still doing that. We really have no comment this evening."\nInterim head coach Mike Davis has said he wants the "interim" label removed and reiterated that sentiment Monday night on the last of his weekly radio shows.\nAssistant coach John Treloar said after the show that he hopes the committee will decide by Monday, when the team meets to begin spring practice.\n"The players have this week off to get caught up academically," Treloar said. "Then next week we start the spring program, so I hope the University decides by then"
