Others attack Israel

Occupied territories, huh. The spoils of war have throughout history often involved land. Not surprisingly, the land goes to the winner, especially when the winner is the one that has been attacked. \nThree times Israel has been attacked by its neighbors. They have won the land they occupy as the spoils of wars that they neither desired or initiated. \nIt's sad that after the examples of Ghandi, Martin Luther King Jr. and Nelson Mandela, the Palestinian leaders have consistently chosen violence as the way to solve their problems. In fact, it seems that they willingly use their people as pawns to gain world sympathy. Why should Israel even negotiate with those leaders who have as a goal the destruction of Israel?\nKurt Thiel\nSenior
