Shoplifter tackled outside Ames\nPolice responding to a call from the Ames department store at 1275 S. College Mall Road tackled a man in the parking lot and arrested him for shoplifting, police reports said. The man attempted to run when staff members saw him leave the building without paying, police said. \nJackie Martindale, 41, of the 2930 block of South Pinewood Lane, was arrested for shoplifting and later released from the Monroe County Correctional Center on $2,500 bail.\nWoman ends dispute with lamp\nPolice responded to a report of a domestic dispute late Monday on the 4000 block of Lilac Lane. An argument started between a couple, and the resident's husband choked her, police reported. The woman defended herself by striking the man in the head with a lamp, police said. \nThomas Johnson, 34, of the 4000 block of Lilac Lane, was arrested for domestic battery and public intoxication and was released from the Monroe County Correctional Center on $1,000 bail.
