Knight has chance to prove critics wrong

Regardless of the truth of the various allegations against Mr. Knight, or of the appropriateness of his dismissal, there is one moral duty he must face, and it is by no means an easy one:\nHe must stand up and condemn the threats that are being made against the students involved in the alleged incident, and he must do so vocally and unambiguously. If we have the power to prevent crimes, and we fail to use it, then we are participating in those crimes. Only Mr. Knight has the authority and force of character to stem the behavior of these overzealous supporters.\nHe did not defend the great American principle of free speech when one vocal critic, facing death threats and physical intimidation, left on an unpaid sabbatical. Here is the opportunity to prove his critics wrong and show his Christian values by turning the other cheek and ensuring the welfare of the young men against whom a lesser man might either seek revenge or relish in their intimidation. But these juvenile attitudes would not be the way of an American, a Christian or a great Hoosier.
