With recent rainfall and cooler temperatures, Mayor Mark Kruzan lifted the city-wide water ban Tuesday for all Bloomington Utilities water customers, effective Wednesday. The water ban has been in place since Aug. 9.
Currently, conditions in 54.67 percent of the state, including Monroe County, are classified as a severe drought, according to the U.S. Drought Monitor’s weekly report released Thursday.
Although the aftermath of Tropical Storm Isaac brought rain to Bloomington last week, water restrictions remain in the city. But the county-wide burn ban, issued by the Monroe County Commissioners, was lifted Tuesday.
