Man taken to hospital after attempted robbery

A man was transported to the hospital for minor injuries after an attempted robbery in Bloomington’s north side Sunday.

Officers from the Bloomington Police Department responded to a report of a robbery in the 2400 block of North Walnut Street at about 11:30 p.m., where the 34-year-old victim told police three white men, possibly in their early 20s, approached him in a loud, dark, four-door car.

One of the males asked the victim if he needed a ride, while the other two got out of the car, BPD Sgt. Cody Forston said. One of the suspects then punched the man and the other two suspects kicked him.

The victim was transported to IU Health Bloomington Hospital, Forston said, where he was treated for injuries to his head and face.
