Bloomington Police to take back drugs on Saturday Oct. 26

The Bloomington Police Department will participate in the National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day Oct. 26.

From 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., people can bring old, unwanted and unused prescription drugs to the Bloomington Police Department, 220 E. Third St.

The BPD has previously participated in three drug take-back days, which accumulated more than 500 pounds of drugs for disposal.

“The National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient and responsible means of disposal, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of these medications,” according to a press release from BPD.

The event is sponsored by the Drug Enforcement Administration.
