Illinois senator hoping to wrap up presidency early

Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama is closing in on the magic number to clinch the election, early results indicate.

Major media outlets have called swing states Pennsylvania and Ohio in favor of the Illinois senator. Political experts called those two states must wins for Republican nominee John McCain.

Obama is within 100 electoral votes of becoming the first black president-elect in United States history.
