An up-and-down season came to a halt for the IU men’s soccer team Sunday when it fell 1-0 to No. 5 seed North Carolina in the third round of the NCAA Tournament.
Despite outscoring two top-25 opponents 3-0 this postseason, the IU men’s soccer players said they have yet to peak this year. This sentiment proves key when the Hoosiers take on No. 5 seed North Carolina in Sunday’s NCAA third round match in Chapel Hill, N.C.
In the last three years, Yeagle has seen all sides of the soccer ball. Two knee surgeries and a year and four months of recovery later, the senior is finally back where he belongs, scoring goals on Jerry Yeagley Field.
Regardless of what this soccer team gives thanks for, they will be spending Thanksgiving day together. Winning their game against Butler on Sunday afternoon, IU advanced to the third round of the NCAA tournament, where it will take on North Carolina this Sunday in Chapel Hill, N.C.
IU defeated Butler on Sunday 1-0 and will move on to Round 3 of the NCAA tournament. The Hoosiers will take on No. 5 UNC next.
