IU suffers 3rd loss in a row

The No. 10 Hoosiers lost their third straight game — second straight at home —  Sunday, falling 1-0 to No. 5 Creighton.

Hoosiers lose 3-2 to Louisville after 2-0 lead

With 18 minutes left in regulation, the IU men's soccer team thought they had it all wrapped up. But in the span of less than a minute, Louisville stormed back with two goals, pushing the game into overtime.

Kenney Walker's overtime goal in the 94th minute gave IU a 3-2 loss tonight at Jerry Yeagley Field.



Hoosier Army garners nationwide support after Facebook origins

Utilizing both Facebook and Twitter, the men’s soccer team’s newly founded student fan section has blossomed from a simple idea early last summer into a nationwide movement with almost 1,000 members spanning across the country.

Hoosiers add 2 more Big Ten honors to list

Senior midfielder Alec Purdie earned his second Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week honors after he netted the only goal of IU’s victory against No. 16 Penn State. The senior leads the team with five goals.Junior goalkeeper Luis Soffner also earned his second Big Ten Player of the Week honors. His net has been untouchable in the last three games. He’s made 33 saves on the season and the Northwestern victory recorded his fourth season shutout.

Forward follows father to IU soccer squad

The winning tradition began in 1982 with a coach, a forward and a national title. Almost 30 years later, that winning tradition is still growing with the sons of the 1982 coach and forward.

High school teammates reunite at IU

Several players on the men’s soccer team haven’t had to make the transition to IU’s campus and soccer program alone. Eleven of the 28 players on this year’s roster played at least part of their high school careers with someone else on the team.

Senior, freshman pick up where Bruin left off

After coming to a scoreless tie with Notre Dame, the No. 10 Hoosiers have won four games in a row and have scored 14 goals in that span. Half of those goals came from senior Alec Purdie and freshman Eriq Zavaleta.

After roughly half the men’s soccer team’s scoring was lost to the MLS when former Hoosier Will Bruin was drafted by the Houston Dynamo, one concern was, simply, who would score?
