Mistake dooms IU in season-ending loss

Senior defender Chris Estridge and the IU men’s soccer team had top seed North Carolina scoreless for 96 minutes, but one misstep did them in.


Single goal in overtime ends IU’s playoff run

But it was all too much, as the Hoosiers dropped the game 1-0 in overtime, and the Tar Heels knocked Indiana out of the third round of the NCAA Tournament for the second time in three years.

Indiana to play No. 1 UNC in 3rd round

Nikita Kotlov scored two goals to lead the 16th-seed IU men’s soccer team (13-3-5) to a 3-0 victory against Old Dominion in the second round of the NCAA Tournament on Sunday.

IU fans hopeful of deep tourney run

The Hoosiers will begin another quest Sunday that, to both players’ and fans’ hopes, will lead them to Hoover, Ala., for a College Cup, an NCAA final win and an eighth star, which has eluded the program now for six years.

Hoosiers selected to men's soccer NCAA Tournament

Indiana grabbed the No. 16 seed for the tournament, awarding them a first-round bye into the tournament of 48. Unseeded Liberty and Old Dominion will face off Thursday to determine the Hoosiers’ second-round foe.

Hoosiers to face Wildcats in tournament rematch

Less than two weeks ago, if they’d been able to block that last goal with five minutes to go, the IU men’s soccer team would have the Big Ten regular season trophy.

Scorers replace last year’s offense

Even after losing more than 75 percent of last season’s team’s goal scoring to graduation and the MLS, IU Coach Todd Yeagley still knew he had the offensive firepower his team needed for success.

Tolen back home for road match

Junior Joe Tolen has seen action in only five games. The midfielder said he hopes, as he returns to his native Evansville on Wednesday for a game against the Aces, that he’ll get another opportunity to play in front of his old home crowd.

The No. 18 Hoosiers (7-3-2, 1-1) are looking to start a new unbeaten streak. The rest of Indiana’s season includes four of its final six games against Big Ten opponents.


Hoosiers snap losing streak with late goal

It looked as if the IU men’s soccer team was headed for an overtime period Wednesday until freshman forward Eriq Zavaleta connected on the go-ahead goal to give IU a 1-0 victory against Butler.
