After thrashing the competition the past few meets, the IU cross country teams are met with their biggest test in their young season Friday in Bethlehem. Pa. The Paul Short Invitational brings in several ranked opponents for the Hoosiers.


Freshman Erica Ridderman, junior Natalie Goolik and freshman Verena Vogel of the IU women’s cross country team run in a pack Saturday morning during the women’s 5k race of the Indiana Open cross country meet. Goolik finished seventh; Ridderman placed 10th and was followed by Vogel who took 11th out of 22 competitors.

Program’s history spans 99 years

Since cross country was introduced to IU in 1910, the Hoosiers have run a clean, storied program over the last 99 years.

Runners set pace for tough Big Ten season

With Big Ten competition slowly creeping up on the men’s and women’s cross country teams, adrenaline begins to rise and nerves dwindle.

With lofty expectations looming over the Indiana cross country team, the men’s and women’s teams both prevailed with first-place finishes Saturday at the Indiana Intercollegiate.
