DSS allows students to register for various autism spectrum disorders, including Asperger's syndrome, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), nonverbal learning disability and pervasive developmental disorder (PDD).

Of the 43,503 IU-B students enrolled last semester, 137 registered for accommodations relating to autism through DSS. This is the only way the university keeps track of how many students are on the autism spectrum.
