After making sure a group of freshmen who seem drunk and walked toward East Law Lane jiggly, Lan Kalb, part-time officer with IUPD, keeps watch outside of McNutt Quad to help make sure freshmen stay safe. Kalb said student officers guard every dorm from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m. every Friday and Saturday night. Almost every night, Kalb sees freshmen passing out from too much alcohol consumption.
