A Pink Bromeliad plant is just one of the plants located in the Jordan Greenhouse. The greenhouse contains plants from around the world used for teaching and research in the Biology department. Jordan Greenhouse is open to the public Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. as well as Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m to 3 p.m.
Memorial Hall, recognizable due to its castle-like architecture, was built in 1925 as the women's dormitory. Today Memorial Hall is home to many academic departments, such as Gender Studies and African Affairs, as well as classrooms and offices.
The Sweetheart Tree, located in the center of the Chemistry Building, remains in this location because of stipulations the Dunn Family issued when donating their property to the university. The Dunns wanted to preserve this specific tree in its current location because two men in the family had proposed to their girlfriends in front off the tree and carved their intials into the bark, thus the Chemistry Building was constructed around the tree.
