Indiana women’s tennis extended its losing streak to four matches after three straight losses over spring break. The Hoosiers suffered two defeats to Big Ten foes Minnesota and Wisconsin and another against Loyola Marymount University.
After losing five of its last six games, Indiana baseball righted itself versus Belmont University on March 15-17, overcoming a 9-3 loss in the series opener and scoring 15 runs in each of the following two games to take its penultimate non-conference weekend series.
No. 12 Indiana water polo looked to continue its winning streak out west after a dominant performance March 9 and 10 at the Aztec Invite, where it went 4-0 and earned two top 25 wins over San Diego State University and Princeton University.
Indiana club hockey won the American Collegiate Hockey Association National Championships on March 15 in St. Louis, marking the program’s first national title in its 55-season history.
The IU Department of Theatre, Drama, and Contemporary Dance performed “Pipeline,” a play by Dominique Morisseau at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Feb. 29-March 8 in the Wells-Metz Theatre. Morisseau has written numerous plays focusing on marginalized communities and the challenges they face. I was truly amazed by the performance, and how IU put up the play. The setting, acting and music were outstanding, and it echoed perfection.
With the final seconds of the first half ticking away, Nebraska senior guard Keisei Tominaga stepped back and launched a 3-pointer so deep it could have been from a different area code. As it fell through the net for the Cornhuskers’ 12th triple of the frame, Tominaga placed both hands on his head, seemingly in awe of his own abilities.
