When Indiana women’s basketball received a No. 4 seed in the NCAA Tournament on Selection Sunday, the Hoosiers knew they would be hosting the first and second rounds inside the familiar confines of Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall. However, what they might have been less prepared to find out, their No. 13 seeded opponent would be Fairfield University — an AP Top 25 team who hasn’t lost a game since November.

Over spring break, I did some spring cleaning in my childhood bedroom. While sifting through crumpled Homecoming t-shirts and old stuffed animals, I stumbled upon my cap, gown and cords from graduation. I was immediately taken back to the countless hours of studying and late nights of cramming for tests, the dramatic breakups and fights with friends that once seemed like the end of the world and, of course, graduation.

Indiana softball returned to Florida for a midweek game March 13 at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton. Then, the Hoosiers headed to Gainesville, for the Florida Tournament over the weekend. In the Sunshine State, Team 51 went 3-2, with two losses during challenging games against No. 10 University of Florida.
