Tesla CEO Elon Musk replied to the tweet pledging his full support, but many people, especially those on the left, responded much less positively to West’s announcement. Indiana’s primary election has been moved from May 5 to June 2 as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak, now joining 10 other states that have primaries scheduled on that day. As the focus shifts away from the presidential primary, with Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., having suspended his campaign, leaving former Vice President Joe Biden the presumptive candidate, down-ballot races are starting to receive some of the attention that they’ve long deserved.

The COVID-19 outbreak has motivated governors in 43 states to issue stay-at-home orders in an attempt to limit the virus’s spread across the country. Retirement homes and assisted living centers in Bloomington have implemented visitation restrictions, and Indiana Superintendent of Public Instruction Jennifer McCormick instructed all K-12 schools on April 3 to remain closed through the end of the school year.
