If you were to go to a theater in Bloomington today, you would have eleven movies to choose from. Of these eleven movies, two are remakes and three are sequels. There’s nothing inherently wrong with sequels or remakes, but they’re saturating the market with unimaginative and stale stories.

Somehow we are still having the argument about whether or not President Donald Trump is racist. Trump has been followed by accusations of housing discrimination, called Mexicans rapists, pushed for a Muslim ban and started the birther movement. Look me in the eyes and tell me he isn’t racist.

June is Pride Month, and many companies are starting to produce delightfully colorful pride-themed merchandise. A lot can be said to criticize companies for capitalizing on Pride Month while ignoring—or actively working against—the LGBTQ community for the rest of the year, but this year there is an entirely new level of exploitative pride gear on the market.

Alabama just joined the slew of states attempting to ban abortions and passed the most restrictive abortion law in the country. Though unlike Georgia’s recent “fetal heartbeat bill,” this new law does not punish the woman receiving an abortion. However, it punishes the abortion provider by up to 99 years in prison.

Donald Trump has long promised he will end birthright citizenship in the United States. The morning of Oct. 30, however, he said he will do so by issuing an executive order.
