No. 2 Indiana softball and No. 7 Penn State will meet in the Big Ten Tournament for the second straight season, this time in the quarterfinals Thursday afternoon. In the opening round Wednesday, the Nittany Lions beat No. 10 Michigan 3-2 on a walk-off throwing error that stemmed from a bunt in the bottom of the seventh inning.

After sweeping Rutgers on April 23, Indiana softball traveled to Ann Arbor over the weekend to face off against Michigan. Just as they did against the Scarlet Knights, the Hoosiers swept the Wolverines, winning their first series against Michigan in 29 years.

Indiana softball traveled up to Ann Arbor this weekend with the opportunity to beat Michigan and end a drought spanning half a century of losing. It had been five years since Indiana had come out on top in a game against the Michigan Wolverines and 29 years since they took a series.

Heavy rain has forced a schedule change yet again for Indiana softball. Instead of playing a single game Friday, Indiana and Michigan will play a doubleheader Saturday, with the first pitch of game one at noon. The second game will commence 30 minutes after the first game ends. Both games will still be broadcast live on B1G+.

Entering the weekend with a 9-2 record, Indiana currently sits one game behind Northwestern in the Big Ten standings. The Hoosiers split the midweek schedule with a victory over the University of Louisville on April 11 and a loss against the University of Notre Dame on April 12.
