Jim Kirkham initially began coaching the Cutters because the team would have become defunct had someone not stepped up to take the job. He said that at the time he felt obligated to give back to the team that had been an integral part of his college years. Fifteen years later he says that he feels he has given back plenty and he could walk away and not feel guilty but won't because the team holds him too tightly. Courtney Deckard
