Emocore; The Bishop 11:45 PM, Friday Combining screeching minimalism with a sort of harmonious droll, Bleeding Rainbow's early sound was made for head lulling and arm flailing.
The Bluebird, Machine Gun Kelly Thursday, 9:00 PM $15-20 After his single "Wildboy" became a repeat track on this summer's playlist, Cleveland rapper Machine Gun Kelly (MGK) began work on his latest studio produced album, Lace Up, which includes several celebrity collaborations.
The Bishop; Charlie Patton's War 9:00 Pm, $5.00 at the door This is young man's blues at its best: raw and powerful, bellowing, almost grunging in both vocals and guitar.
Clayton Anderson @ The Bluebird Friday, 9.00 PM Clayton Anderson wants you to know that he's all-American, which is of course, more or less standard protocol for all country singers.
Cherub @ The Bishop Friday, 11.00 PM $10.00 at the door The members of Cherub could almost be wholesome boys; when you click on their website you see Jordan Kelly and Jason Huber grinning into the colour streaked-skies (presumably, their skies of promise and ambition?). Then you click over to their bio page and start reading about their hi-octane action-driven performances, their promises to share a little bit of sex and drugs with the world, while the background images scroll to an image of the musicians with bloodied noses holding a Jason hockey mask, and another with one member holding a magnum to the others' head.

Herb & Hanson @ Rachael's Cafe August 21 Herb Manila and Michael Hanson wear the expressions of acoustic gurus, not to mention wildly manicured beards and the faraway eyes of the enlightened.
Victor & Penny @ Bear's Place 9:00 PM Victor and Penny might just be the quaintest sounding duo you've ever heard.
The music of Johnny Profane and Kimmie F'n Green Eyez was comfortable, casual. This was friendly music, music you would listen to around a campfire or at a cookout. The lyrics might have been a little repetitive, but they were catchy.

Johnny Profane w/ Kimmie F'n Green Eyez @ Rachael's Cafe Wednesday, April 25 9 p.m. $5 cover charge The best way to describe the music of Johnny Profane and Kimmie F'n Green Eyez is "old school." That's not necessarily a bad thing.
When Cults' self-released seven-inch first went up Bandcamp in 2010, few predicted that their debut album would be released on an imprint of Columbia Records in 2011 and they would be an elite live act in 2012, but that's what happened.
It was a desolate wasteland. There were very few signs of life in the back of the dark and eerie space.

In front of a crowd of singing and dancing fans, Good Old War brought a happy, intimate vibe to the Bluebird.
I was a little wary when I read online that Fang Island described their music as "everyone high-fiving everyone." Something about that description just made me think back to my middle school years of meaningless pop music.
