Guest Blogger Rorye O'Connor writes about Keller Williams at the Bluebird tonight. (Photo by O'Connor) So Keller Williams doesn't really count as local music since he's from Virginia, but I had the opportunity to see him play at the Bluebird Thursday night and couldn't pass it up.
I think our comments work! Leave us love. Check tomorrow for all the best shows to go to this weekend.
More info on our q&a here. I'll be posting a nice cumulative post once I get everyone for this week! Age: 23 on the 28th Job: UITS Student Technology Consultant, DJ Show you're most excited to see this semester: Redman & Method Man(Bluebird on October 21) or maybe Twista(Jake's October 17) Favorite live show Bloomington experience: Too many to name but the last great show I saw was in May at Uncle Fester's.
Generally if I'm going to walk into Jake's, it's only going to be on a Thursday night (because come on, who can pass up giant mugs of 25 cent beer?), and I know before stepping foot in the place that I'm going to be surrounded on all sides by fratastic flat billed hats and polo shirts.
In our hopes to make Live Buzz as inclusive to the local music community as possible, we want to have as much input from everyone involved.
You know the drill. Weekly Jazz at Bear's with the Caswell Sisters. 5:30- 8 p.m. $6. 21+. Weekly Jazz at the Station on 825 N.Walnut.
Fellow Live Buzz blogger Katie McKenna and I met up at Landlocked today to catch Maps and Atlases. What a good turnout!
I don't know whether to call Total Trash Tuesday one of Bloomington's best kept secrets or just great music on, you know, a Tuesday. But even though about 70 people were at the Bluebird by the last set, TTT should soon be making Tuesday the new Saturday in Bloomington.
Here's what's coming up today. Maps and Atlases in store + Max's Place open mic is All Ages, while Jake's and Bear's is 21+. --- Maps and Atlases In store performance at Landlocked Music, (on 202 N.
More info on last night's show. My review of their latest release. -Stefania PS: Pretty sure comments ain't working at the moment.
Local heroes Impossible Shapes and Prizzy Prizzy Please with special out of town guests the Rosewood Thieves.
I sat comfortably in a cushion-y recliner, in the screening room of The Cinemat, as I watched The Donkeys play a groovy yet funny set. The screen behind the band showed '60s images of what made me think of Cali- mostly surfers.
Doors should be open at the Cinemat now. I called the venue and was told that show should start around 8:45-9, then Donkeys on at 10-10:30.
Woah... not only is the Buskirk-Chumley hosting Deerhoof, Magnolia Electric Co. and many more, Ted Leo and the Pharmacists are playing Nov.
If you can't hit up The Donkeys show at the Cinemat tonight (post below), here's what else we know going on, for 21+ and 21-. Hip-hop, indie stuff- whatever your lil heart desires.
I highly suggest you guys come and see The Donkeys tonight. Great California jams- sounds like stuff your parents and you would love, because it's just takes on so many influences.
