Wisconsin Scores on Its First Play and Never Looks Back

MADISON, Wisc.--No. 22 Wisconsin scored the game-winning touchdown on its first play from scrimmage in a 51-3 blowout victory against visiting Indiana. On the first possession of the game, IU sophomore quarterback Nate Sudfeld saw wide receiver Nick Stoner downfield in single coverage.

MADISON, Wisc.--Here are some game notes from the first half of the IU-Wisconsin matchup. IU Right Guard Jacob Bailey and running back Tevin Coleman did not make the trip to Madison, Wisc. IU trails Wisconsin at half, 27-0

On Wisconsin's first play from scrimmage, James White ran for a 93-yard touchdown. That has been indicative of this game, as IU hasn't been able to get on track all day on offense or defense.

IU leads Samford 54-25 at halftime

With four dunks and a 16-point advantage in the paint, the IU men's basketball team has a 54-25 advantage against Samford at halftime. The Hoosiers have never trailed in the game, as freshman forward Troy Williams started the scoring effort with a tip-in on IU's first play of the game.

VIDEO: Vonleh, Ferrell reflect on narrow victory

IU men's basketball freshman forward Noah Vonleh and sophomore guard Kevin "Yogi" Ferrell, along with their teammates, pulled out a close win Tuesday night against LIU Brooklyn 73-72 after shooting just 11-for-40 in the first half.

Halftime: IU 33, LIU Brooklyn 36

Against many NCAA Tournament teams, the inexperienced IU men's basketball team likely would have taken an 11-for-40 shooting half to the locker room with a double-digit deficit. But tonight, the Hoosiers trail just 36-33, 20 minutes into action at Assembly Hall against LIU Brooklyn. Sophomore guard Kevin "Yogi" Ferrel started the game off with a 3-pointer from the right corner just 20 seconds into the game.

Kotlov, Webb win Big Ten honors

IU men's soccer swept Big Ten Player of the Week honors this week, with senior midfielder Nikita Kotlov named Offensive Player of the Week and freshman Colin Webb the Defensive Player of the Week. Both players received the honors for their performance in IU's 3-0 win over Northwestern on Friday. In the Hoosiers' final regular season game, Kotlov scored a goal and assisted on another, while Webb recorded his first career shutout in his second start.

IU leads Illinois 21-14 at half

It's been a tale of two quarters in Bloomington. IU leads 21-14, after an explosive first quarter and a relatively tame second quarter. The first quarter saw 375 yards of total offense between the two teams, making it 14-14 after the first stanza. The two teams are 11th and 12th in the Big Ten in total defense.

Halftime: IU 47, Chicago State 28

After the first 20 minutes of the IU men's basketball season, the Hoosiers lead the Chicago State Hoosiers 47-28 at Assembly Hall. Chicago State won the tipoff but both teams missed several buckets to start the contest till freshman forward Noah Vonleh landed a turnaround lay-in for the game's first points. He then followed with another bucket the next trip down and made his first free throw of in both the regular season and exhibition season.

IU Football Coach Kevin Wilson was on the weekly Big Ten coaches teleconference on Tuesday afternoon to talk about the Hoosiers' upcoming matchup against Illinois. Opening Statement: "A disappointing loss, battled back but unfortunately came up short against Minnesota and got another challenge and great opportunity with Illinois coming in this Saturday.

VIDEO: Crean analyzes final exhibition victory

IU Coach Tom Crean said coming into Monday night's exhibition game against Hillsdale College that his team had to focus on defensive pressure in order to create their fast-paced offense. He told he media after the game that his squad managed to begin establishing an identity in their offensive and defensive schemes, but his young team has a long ways to go. VIDEO: Men's basketball players reflect on exhibition win over Hillsdale

After a slow start which put the Hoosiers down 13-2, the IU men's basketball team found an offensive rhythm from strength on defense to slow down the Hillsdale College Chargers and pull off a 79-39 victory Monday night. Afterwards, freshmen Stanford Robinson and Devin Davis and sophomore Kevin "Yogi" Ferrell spoke to the media about the slow start, pushing the ball into the post and preparing for the regular season.
