With a first and a second place finish in the night's only two events, IU women's swim and dive leads the competition after one day at the Big Ten Championships in Minneapolis. The Hoosiers have 74 points, just ahead of Minnesota's 72.
For the third consecutive built a lead only to see it go away in the second half. The Hoosiers lost to Michigan 70-58. The Hoosiers had six point lead at halftime, but as the second half got underway, the Wolverines began to catch fire. Michigan opened the second half on an 11-2 run to storm to take a 37-34 lead with 16:37 remaining. As the Hoosiers struggled to convert on second-half baskets, the Wolverines pulled away.

Senior Simone Deloach was named to the Big Ten Player of the Week Honor Roll, as announced by the Big Ten on Tuesday. Deloach finished with 14 points and 14 rebounds in IU's 76-69 victory against Wisconsin on Saturday. The 6-foot-3 forward is averaging 5.7 points and 5.87 rebounds per game this season, but has gotten hot in IU's recent games.
