Department: IDS, Weekend, Inside Magazine

Description: Join our editorial team and learn newspaper and online journalism from the inside. The IDS newspaper and website gives students journalism experience in a dynamic collegiate environment. The paper is published weekdays during the fall and spring semester with online updates 24/7. In summer, it's published twice weekly, on Mondays and Thursdays. Weekend, a source for pop culture, appears in Thursday’s IDS and online. It highlights local events and artists, features music and movie reviews. Inside magazine is a general-interest magazine, named one of the nation’s best in fall 2009. Published four times a year in print and updated weekly online, Inside offers in-depth features, engaging portraits and helpful departments — all with compelling content.

Time Commitment: Work for only one semester or all four of your college years.

Wage: Writers, photographers, illustrators are paid per published piece. Designers are paid per page and copy editors per hour. New editorial staffers join the General Assignments desk where they must complete a brief unpaid training period.
