Bloomington police responded early Sunday to a report of a man being attacked by a group of at least three others.

At about 6:17 a.m., police were greeted by a scene of people who had congregated where the reported fight occurred and were shouting in the 2300 block of South Winslow Court.

Bloomington Police Department Detective Sgt. John Kovach said the suspects fled when a witness approached the scene.

The victim, 26, was unable to provide a description of the suspects. At one point, the victim became unconscious, Kovach said.

If caught, the suspects may face a felony aggravated battery charge. The suspects were not located.

The victim reportedly told police he did not know who would want to harm him, but that his brother had broken up a fight the previous night at a party, indicating a possible correlation, he said.
