Students will no longer be allowed to wait outside of Assembly Hall overnight for GA seats to the men’s basketball game against No. 1 Kentucky on Saturday, according to an IU Athletics press release.

“This was an overwhelming show of support by these students whose passion and excitement for the Hoosiers is shared by many,” said Deputy Director of Athletics Scott Dolson in the release.  “We can’t wait for Saturday, but in the meantime, we want their focus to be on their academics, and we want their safety and well being to be at the forefront.”

Fans had been set up outside Assembly Hall since Tuesday afternoon but were told by IUPD on Tuesday evening they would not be able to set up tents, per an IU policy.

No more students will be allowed to wait outside overnight but will be allowed to wait starting at 7 a.m. on the morning of the game. The students who did show up early have been given vouchers by IU Athletics to get into the game first.
