IU men’s basketball coach Tom Crean informed assistant coach Roshown McLeod on Sunday that his contract would not be renewed for next year and he will no longer be with the team effective immediately.

“There is never a good time for something like this, but it is a decision that had to be made moving forward,” Crean said.

The 35-year-old McLeod spent two seasons with IU after previously serving as an assistant coach at Fairfield University. He played in the NBA for three seasons from 1999-2001 out of St. John’s and Duke. An injury ended his career in 2002 and has been coaching at the high school, AAU and collegiate levels since.
