On Tuesday, the Indiana Supreme Court set a date for the execution of Matthew Eric Wrinkles, ending a case whose trial and appeals have spanned more than a decade.

Wrinkles was convicted of three counts of murder for fatally shooting of his estranged wife, Debbie Wrinkles, and her brother and sister-in-law, Mark "Tony" Fulkerson and Natalie "Chris" Fulkerson, according to a press release from the Indiana Supreme Court. Mark Fulkerson and Debbie Wrinkles were shot in the presence of their children.

The shootings took place on July 21, 1994, in Evansville, Ind., according to the release. The jury in his 1995 trial unanimously recommended the death penalty.

Wrinkles will be the first person to receive the death penalty in Indiana since the 2007 execution of Michael Lambert, who shot a Muncie police officer. In June of this year, the Chicago Tribune reported that Indiana executions were taking place at the slowest pace in 15 years.

Wrinkles will be executed before sunrise on Dec. 11, at the Indiana State Prison in Michigan City, Ind., according to the release.

What a jerk. The death penalty is too lenient for this sleaze. He deserves a good old fashioned waterboarding session before the gets the injection or the chair or whatever. Also, its ridiculous that the last death penalty killing in indiana was 2007. Thats two years ago. Im sure there are some people in prison who need to get death. Lets speed up justice in Indiana a bit.
