Through a new partnership, IU will deploy an institution-wide communication system to more effectively reach prospective students, current students, alumni and donors.

IU has partnered with Campus Management Corp. to deliver its constituent relationship management software for organizing data and communications for all IU campuses, according to an IU press release.

The new six-year license agreement will provide unlimited use of Campus Management’s Talisma-Campus product.

With this agreement, IU is the first major, multi-campus university in the nation to elevate constituent communications to a university-wide platform inclusive of all schools, its alumni association and foundation.

“We want our students to develop a lifelong relationship with Indiana University and remain actively engaged in our programs and activities long after they graduate,” IU President Michael McRobbie said in a statement. “These tools will bring new efficiencies, effectiveness and enhancements to the communications that shape those evolving relationships.”

University-wide capabilities will allow IU to communicate with students and other constituents, such as prospective students, alumni and donors, through a variety of media formats as individuals’ relationships with the University evolve, according to a press release.

“IU assessed the growing needs for constituent communications at all levels – departments, schools, campuses, alumni association and the foundation – and made the choice to deploy a common set of tools for everyone’s use,” said IU Vice President for Information Technology and CIO Brad Wheeler in a statement.

“Campus Management agreed to partner with us to create the best communications tools for an institution of IU’s scale with its over 500,000 living alumni and essential partner in the IU Foundation.”

Wheeler noted the agreement further unites the University and underscores many of the core principles of IU’s new strategic plan for IT.

“We continue to use IU’s large scale to engage in high-value partnerships that support the missions of Indiana University,” Wheeler said.

Timothy B. Loomer, president and chief executive officer of Campus Management Corp., said, “IU has the pulse of what tomorrow’s students and supporters will expect from their university experience. IU and Campus Management share a vision for highly scalable technology that provides constituents with rapid service in a very personalized way.”

Congrats! However, IU is not the first. MNSCU and CUNY both established system wide and full lifecycle communication platforms in 2008 and 2007 respectively.
