The IU men's soccer team stretched its unbeaten streak to six games Saturday night as the Hoosiers defeated Northwestern 1-0 at Bill Armstrong Stadium.

Freshman Eric Alexander scored the lone goal for the cream and crimson. Senior forward Kevin Robson set up the goal by dribbling through the middle of the Wildcat defense and playing a through ball to Alexander. It was Alexander's second straight game with a goal.

The Wildcats pressured the Hoosier defense for the final 20 minutes of the game, but were unable to get the tying goal. Sophomore goalkeeper Chay Cain made a couple of saves to maintain the victory for the Hoosiers.

With the win, the Hoosiers moved into a tie for first place in the Big Ten. The team has three conference games remaining. The cream and crimson take on instate rival IUPUI this Tuesday at Armstrong Stadium.
