IU Director of Athletics Rick Greenspan presented a $55 million "facility enhancement" plan to the IU board of trustees Wednesday afternoon.

The plan includes four major projects that would upgrade athletics facilities, according to a news release from the IU Athletics Department.

The proposal includes:

• The construction of baseball and softball complexes.

• The Memorial Stadium North End Zone Project, which would create a new "strength development area" for more than 600 IU athletes.

• New practice courts, locker rooms, coaches' offices and meeting rooms for the IU men's and women's basketball teams.

• The relocation of the Student Development and Compliance unit from Assembly Hall to an 18,000-square foot area east of the stadium, which will house classrooms, tutoring space, study areas and computer labs.

The plan would be paid for through private donations and athletics department operating budget, including income earned through media rights, according to the news release.

See Thursday's Indiana Daily Student for more coverage.
