Indiana State Police seized 200 pounds of marijuana after arresting a 46-year-old Bloomington man early Wednesday morning.

Police apprehended Clifford Lee Harden at 5:30 a.m. after a six-month investigation by the Indiana State Police, the Mitchell Police Department and the South Central Indiana Narcotic Strike Force.

During the investigation Wednesday, officers recovered an estimated 200 pounds of the drug and $111,988 in U.S. currency from Harden.

Harden was preliminarily charged with dealing marijuana, a Class C felony. According to the police report, a conviction could carry a two- to eight-year prison term and a $10,000 fine.

He was booked into the Monroe County Jail with a bond set at $500,000.

Community address tonight

Collaboration between the city and county governments will be highlighted at the first-ever state of the community address at 5:30 p.m. today in the Fountain Square Ballroom, according to a press release.

After the address, Monroe County Court Commissioner Bret Raper will play fiddle, and Craig Brenner, blues artist and Bloomington Community and Family Resources Special Project Coordinator, will perform to "round out the theme for the night."
