Georgia Perimeter College guard Earl Calloway will have to get used to playing in front of a few more people next year.

IU head coach Mike Davis expanded the 2005 recruiting class to three on Monday, announcing the signing of the junior point guard. Calloway will join 6-10 Australian center Ben Allen and 6-5 forward Joey Shaw of Arizona.

"Earl is one of the top JUCO players in the country, and we are extremely pleased he is coming to Indiana," Davis said in a statement. "He had a year of experience at the Division I level, and another year to learn at one of the top junior college programs in the country, so we expect him as someone who can step in and make an immediate impact."

Calloway earned Honorable Mention National Junior College Association of American All-American in his year at Georgia Perimeter, and was also named all-conference. Before turning to junior college, Calloway spent a year at New Mexico State University, where he averaged 1.9 points per game coming off the bench.

At Georgia Peremiter, Calloway led his team with 18 points, 4.8 assists and 5 steals per game. Calloway did heavy damage from behind the arc, finishing No. 5 in the nation in three point percentage, shooting 44.7 percent.

Calloway comes from the same high school that produced former IU forward A.J. Moye -- Atlanta Westlake High School. In high school, the guard averaged 19.1 points and almost 10 assists per game en route to being named South Metro Player of the Year and first team All-State.

The three newcomers will join Auburn senior transfers Lewis Monroe and Marco Killingsworth as new weapons on the 2005 Hoosier squad. Calloway will fight for time in the backcourt with junior Marshall Strickland, sophomores Rod Wilmont and Errek Suhr and freshman A.J. Ratliff.
