Like I said, my opinion as to why Presidwent Obama has finally come
around to gay marriage is that he wanted to drop the voters who don’t
support it and gain those who do. This immensely streamlines the voting
process.

If you read through the 4,543 words of our constitution, not once will
you see anything about marriage, whether it is between a man and a woman
or anything else for that matter. The constitution does not discuss
this topic at all.

Supporting gay rights, as Obama has done (through, for example, the
repeal of the Don’t Ask Don’t Tell policy), is vital. I am overjoyed and
proud that he has done so. But the marriage issue is crucial and can
only be resolved through drastic change — which means more than just
talking.
