Bottles in Ballantine Hall educate on clean water

It’s just a pile of used, plastic water bottles, but for one IU organization, it represents the struggle of millions.

For the past week, the first floor of Ballantine Hall has been home to a mass of water bottles assembled by the Public Health and Water division of the IU Global Brigades.

Students ‘speak’ for autism

Students and community members gathered at BuffaLouie’s Thursday night to celebrate the first fundraising event of the IU-Bloomington chapter of Autism Speaks U.

Autism Speaks U is the university chapter of Autism Speaks, a national autism science and advocacy organization that focuses on funding research and spreading awareness about autism.

IU speciality plates ranked first in state popularity

The IU license plate has been ranked first overall in terms of sales and popularity of specialty license plates in the state of Indiana, according to a report by the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles released in January.

Instructor’s event acts as gateway to Chinese culture, philosophy

Yuzhi Lan will teach Chinese calligraphy throughout the semester starting today. The event will last from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Fridays at the Asian Culture Center.

The program introduces people to the basic Chinese language and culture, Lan said.

Funding awards help further, promote faculty projects

Twenty-one IU-Bloomington faculty members received Collaborative Research and Creative Funding awards by the Office of the Vice Provost for Research.

The awards, each $10,000, will accelerate projects and initiatives regarding faculty, museums, institutes and IU centers.
