TV Recap: ‘The Cleveland Show,’ “Cleveland Junior’s Cherry Bomb”

Cleveland finds himself in yet another pickle in his new hit show, which was recently renewed by the FOX Network through 2011. While attending a game for the local minor league baseball team, the Stoolbend Turtleheads, Cleveland notices Roberta making out with Federline Jones during a Kiss Cam segment on the scoreboard.

Cleveland, worried by Roberta’s promiscuous behavior, decides to try and get her to promise that she will stay a virgin. Both Roberta and Donna are put off by Cleveland’s attempts until Tim the Bear suggests that Cleveland take her to a sermon about teen abstinence.

The plan backfires on Cleveland when Cleveland Junior pledges his virginity to Cleveland. Holding a double standard on teenage sex, Cleveland is upset that his son has taken a vow of purity.

When he returns to work on Monday, all of Cleveland’s co-workers give him a hard time, leading Cleveland to try and get his son to give up his pledge. He takes him to a Star Trek convention, in hopes that showing him that male virginity isn’t that exciting.

After that attempt fails, Cleveland approaches Federline and asks him to teach Cleveland Junior how to get girls. The two agree to a deal and Cleveland drops a freestyle segment at the conclusion of the deal.

Federline attempts to teach Cleveland Junior how it’s done, but Junior is not quick to change his ways. Cleveland, being taunted by his friends yet again, decides to join them in making fun of Junior, who overhears the conversation and begins to cry.

Junior goes to his friend Ernie for help. Ernie tells him about a brothel on another part of town and the two drive away on a motorized scooter to get Junior some action. Cleveland and his friends figure out Junior and Ernie’s plans.

Cleveland finds Junior in time and apologizes for being so mean. He then invites him to the Purity Ball. The two dance and the girls at the ball are impressed with Junior’s moves. One of them kisses him on the lips and Cleveland decides to be the master of his own virginity.
