“You peed on her!”
Zack and Billie are having a rough time living together. Billie eats all of Zack’s ribs in a fit of pregnancy craving; Zack runs up the water bill by spending too long in the shower.
Zack feels guilty, so he buys Billie a new toilet that’s supposed to save water, but after he and Davis pick it up, he realizes he’s forgotten his key. Wanting to surprise Billie, he calls her and tells her he left his coat behind and he’s running late for work. Billie, who is so stressed about living with a man that she finds a wax more relaxing, rushes out half-done to give him a key.
However, Zack doesn’t actually know how to install toilets. He gets the old one up but not the new one in — which causes him some problems in the middle of the night. He sneaks into Billie’s bedroom, attempting to use hers. However, instead of seeing her asleep in bed, he finds her using the toilet . . . after he pees on her and sees the results of the half-wax.
Billie is pretty pissed off about the whole thing, until she talks to her sister, Abby, and her friend Olivia about the whole thing and realizes that Zack was just trying to be sweet. She apologizes with a bucket of new ribs and sits down to watch the game with him and his friends. Everything seems to be going well, until she finds out that Zack told them about the half-wax. She gets furious and Zack storms out, dragging his friends behind him.
Meanwhile, Billie’s been talking to her boss and former boyfriend, James, about his new vineyard plans. She asks him why they never fought when they were a couple and finds out that James isn’t interested in getting that emotionally invested with anyone. Realizing that it was probably a good thing they’d broken up, she returns home.
Zack is living in his truck, and he and Davis have a conversation about friendship. “No matter how much I ignore you, or abuse you, or make fun of you to your face, yo’re my best friend. Best friends are like Supreme Court appointments. You can’t lose that job until you retire or die.” Which is a really cute way to put it, by the way.
Billie is eating the rest of the ribs when she feels something new: the baby kicking. She rushes down to show Zack, and after they agree to be friends (though Billie hasn’t heard Zack’s really sweet definition), she lets him come back.
This episode was pretty cute. Zack and Billie were good, Olivia and Abby had small roles (thus, the annoyance on that end was cut down), and Davis seemed somewhat normal (or at least funny stupid, not really unamusing stupid).
