Last night’s Gossip Girl: like your highschool’s mystery casserole.

September 30th, 2008 by smarghit

Allow me to explain my subject line. Last night’s GG episode had a lot of the same crap we already know all combined together into something far too familiar. And the good stuff, you only get a little taste of.

Exhibit A:

Blair has mommy issues, and is jealous of Serena.

Daily Links, Tuesday, 09.30

September 30th, 2008 by Cory Barker

Ed Note: Hopefully this will become one of our best features at Watchers. Basically, I’ll be posting a batch of links each day from around the web that interest me, are relevant, etc. Most blogs do something like this, and it is a really great feature. So please enjoy the first batch.

“Pushing Daisies” is finally back tomorrow, and EW looks back at the great season one. [Entertainment Weekly]

T.I.’s new album, Paper Trail, is both awesome and on sale at Amazon’s MP3 store for 4 bucks. Wow. [Amazon.com]

Monday’s ratings are in: CBS rules again, while NBC looks to be in trouble. [Variety]

Jesse “The Body” Ventura can now add reality show host to his growing list of jobs he didn’t deserve. Ventura will host a probably awful show on truTV about conspiracy theories. [Variety].

“The Force Unleashed,” the newest “Star Wars” video game, is a big hit, and so of course talks about it coming to the big screen have already started. [/Film]

FOX has picked up a series from “Pineapple Express” scribe David Gordan Greene titled “Good Vibes,” which will be a 30 minute animated show about two kids living the Cali lifestyle. No word on if they’ve already canceled it as well. [TV Guide].

What To Watch, 09.29

September 29th, 2008 by Cory Barker

As I mentioned in a recent WEEKEND “Last Word,” Monday nights are absolutely nutty when it comes to television programs. And tonight more or less solidifies the insane nature of how Mondays will go from here on out.

Here’s what to watch for tonight, along with official descriptions for the episodes.

Still going

September 29th, 2008 by Sara Amato, weekend

It’s be about five years since the first episode of One Tree Hill.

Airing on the CW – formerly the WB – it’s hard to believe this show is still going. But while watching the show last Monday, I realized why: It’s scary interesting.

If you haven’t watched it, I’m sure you know what it’s about. If not well, here’s a (very) brief background:

The return.

September 28th, 2008 by Cory Barker

Ladies and gentleman, the WEEKEND Watchers blog is back!

After a rocky go of things last semester, expect Watchers to be much improved, starting this week. Instead of simply featuring TV recaps, look for us to cover all things Pop Culture, including those recaps, TV and film industry news, spoilers, various multimedia projects and much more.

We might be slow getting things off the ground, but be patient, because this semester’s stable of bloggers is ready to bring you daily doses of pop culture knowledge.

Get ready, the return is here.
