Brianna’s teenage defiance continues in “Meet the Disorderly” and brings the most trouble she has had yet — putting her friend in the hospital and almost landing her back in foster care.

Two stunning developments strike Brown Meadows to start the third season of “Meet the Browns.” Will has been spending time away from home to “work late,” and Colonel and Ms. Edna’s relationship has grown faster than Mr. Brown can change outfits.

Critics might claim Meet the Browns is too implausible to be taken seriously. Yes, Mr. Brown acts more childish than most children do, and it’s hard to imagine nine people living in one place so relatively peacefully. But the show can turn real serious real quick in episodes such as “Meet the Troublemaker,” which portrays the harsh and frightening realities of school bullying.

In “Meet the Hubby,” Mr. Brown starts things off right away when he comes into the house and gives Ms. Edna some mail. “The zoo has a recall letter. They want you back,” he says. He then calls her ugly. Ms. Edna can’t hold her tongue for too long, responding, “If you had a neck, I’d break it.” Thus begins an episode chock-full of bickering between the two.

MEET THE BROWNS: 221, “Meet the Man and the Mouse”
In the episode “Meet the Man and the Mouse,” Will and Sasha begin to realize they don’t have much privacy living in Brown Meadows. Colonel knows when Sasha isn’t “regular” and not getting enough fiber. Ms. Edna snoops in Sasha’s closet and finds her negligee. Then things get really out of hand when everyone finds out Sasha has hair extensions and starts teasing her. Cora admits she only told her hair stylist … and then a few teachers … and then a whole list of people around town. “Weavegate” is the last straw for Sasha, and she tells Will she can’t deal with the lack of privacy anymore. So they start to look online for a new place to live.
