In high school, it seemed that there were several rigid stereotypes: The jock, the burnout, the girl who had been around the block and of course, the geek.

While the last of the above archetypes, the geek, may not have reveled in social events at our Alma Maters, Boxcar Books/The Midwest Pages to Prisoners Projects’ 6th Annual Rock N Roll Prom on Saturday proved that even dorks can party hard.

Last night’s show at the John Waldron Arts Center reminded me of reading a Douglas Coupland novel. Both sets by Tammar and Beach House put me in a pensive mood that’s similar to how I feel after reading his books. I was kind of expecting this though, as both bands seem pretty moody and introspective themselves.
