In high school, it seemed that there were several rigid stereotypes: The jock, the burnout, the girl who had been around the block and of course, the geek.

While the last of the above archetypes, the geek, may not have reveled in social events at our Alma Maters, Boxcar Books/The Midwest Pages to Prisoners Projects’ 6th Annual Rock N Roll Prom on Saturday proved that even dorks can party hard.

<<<<<<<This is Jacob Levin on Halloween.

This is the regular Jacob Levin>>>>>

In my pure excitement for Election Day, I cannot seem to sleep and am on Facebook. What else is new, right?

Alas, the only other folks up are usually your other give or take insomniacs/all-nighter college students or party kids or SOMETHING.

But the only sober/cohesive kids are usually. *don donnn donnn*.. people from abroad.

Which made me stumble upon former IDS Opinion editor’s  Jacob Levin, currently in China- and his profile picture-

anddd a status that said “Jacob Levin is so much more hipster than you.”

Now, Jacob Levin used to always let ME know during this summer with like, the ids staff as down as Bloomington population was, that for him, I was the definition of a hipster. He used to make fun of my love for polaroid film, vintage and indie music. But he always seemed to avoid other dominant features such as my Romanianness, my southerness and my true adoration for bad 90s rap.

ANYWAY, Levin let me know that he was actually dressed up as a Korean exchange student. That all the exchange students dress like that in China.

“But its translated to hipster in American, ” he said

Moral of the story: I don’t sleep and Jacob Levin is hilarious.

Meet the Live Buzzers, Halloween style. We’re the ones judging the contest, after all!
