Welcome back, Jibreel Black?
The news hitting everyone in the face tonight is Brian Kelly, current coach at Cincinnati, will take the vacant spot at Notre Dame next season. How that news affects IU football is purely speculation, but it’s worth pondering.
Will defensive end Jibreel Black, formerly the Hoosiers’ top 2010 recruit, come to back to Bloomington?
On its face, it would make sense. A big IU draw previously was that Black’s brother Larry was already on the team.
He’s still there, and given his massive amount of playing time last season and subsequent production, that probably won’t change anytime soon.
Now, the school Jibreel left IU for is without a head coach in 2010. Before Kelly took the reins, Cincinnati football was a program teetering on the brink of mediocrity every year. Kelly righted the ship, but now the captain is gone.
The stars are aligned for a “just kidding” from Black. Will Bill Lynch and company see it?

Or he might pull the same trick that many Memphis basketball recruits pulled – and follow Kelly to Notre Dame!
Here’s hoping it works out for the best for IU – and for the kid! Can’t be easy being a recruit these days.
Of course, it is worse for someone who is now a redshirt freshman at Cincy – never got to play, coach gone, and you’re stuck with your commitment!!! Yucchhhh!!!!.
