Bawa is eligible
Earlier this afternoon, IU coach Tom Crean tweeted that freshman center Bawa Muniru has been cleared to play.
Just moments ago, we got the actual release from IU media relations:
Freshman Bawa Muniru has been cleared by the NCAA Eligibility Center and can play for the Hoosiers effective immediately. The 6-11, 260-lb center from Tumu, Ghana was the #111th rated recruit in 2009 and the 14th best center. He is part of a 2009 recruiting class that is recognized as the best in the Big Ten and one of the top ten nationally.
“We are excited for Bawa as he can now move forward with his energies completely focused on his academic and athletic career at Indiana,” said IU Coach Tom Crean. “We know the NCAA had to take their time and we appreciate them seeing this process through. At Indiana, we have so many outstanding individuals in our compliance, eligibility and academic support areas who worked so hard and diligently on his behalf .”
He averaged 16.6 points and 8.9 rebounds as a senior at Madison (Ala.) Academy and attended Mount Zion Academy a year ago.
The Hoosiers have an exhibition game at 7 p.m., Monday, against Saint Joseph’s College in Assembly Hall. Indiana will open the season at 8 p.m., Friday, November 13 against Howard in Bloomington.

look at how posts make it (or rather don’t) on this blog
they get censored, delayed, deleted, rejected although there’s no profanity in them
just open, honest, straight opinions that some don’t like and therefore censor
bad karma, going around this campus, that’s what it is
go hoosiers! go tom crean! go indiana!
