Purdue gets revenge, downs Hoosiers in University Gym

The IU volleyball team upset Purdue in West Lafayette on Sept. 30.

Purdue got its revenge Wednesday in University Gym.

The Boilermakers (12-12, 4-9) claimed the 2009 Monon Spike by defeating the Hoosiers (14-13, 3-10) by scores of 20-25, 25-23, 25-20 and 25-19.

Perhaps the most telling statistic of the match was Purdue’s 17 1/2 total team blocks to IU’s six. The Boilermakers dominated the match in area that is usually a strength for the Hoosiers.
